The Best Post Secret....Ever....

To be honest, I ususally visit post secret for the shock-and-awe factor, gasping at the most horrible things and just generally coming away with the feeling that there are a lot of sad people out there, but this card made my day.  Literally laugh out-loud-funny, especially I think because I just got done watching Meet the Press and The Chris Matthews Show.  It's not something I've thought of before, but man, I'm going to think about it anytime they are together again.

What the Heck are You Thinking Hillary?

This morning on the radio I heard something horrifying - a Celine Dion song called "You and I."  What's even more horrifying about it is that Hillary Clinton has picked this piece of horse manure as her 2008 campaign song.  What the !@#$% is she thinking?

Underneath the announcement of this "winning" song, Hillary states, "Help us make history."

Sweetheart, you already did by picking the worst campaign song possible. 

Supposedly this was a write in choice and, obviously a joke I think.  If Hillary is going to be this dim witted in terms of "going with what the people want" and this is an early sign of what her Presidential reign might look like, I'm saying - "No freakin' way!"

But then again, I didn't vote on what I thought Hillary's song should be, and she did open it up to everyone.  See what happens when you don't vote people?  George Bush gets two terms and Hillary Clinton goes with a song that only appeals to 16 year-old girls!

Let the Three-Party Race Begin!

Please, please, please let it be a three-party race in 2008!  It's looking good with NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg changing his affiliation from Republican to unaffiliated today.  I guess he keeps saying he won't run, but hey, it's early and he's not the only one saying "no" that, in reality, is on the fence.

So, I had an interesting thought the other day.  What if, a year before the 2008 election, I decide to wear a different political T-shirt every Friday, with the main goal not to promote one candidate, but to encourage people to vote.

This would require me wearing gear of candidates that traditionally go against my own party, but if it gets people in to vote, I won't mind so much.  Lord knows Cafe Press has hundreds of different t-shirts to choose from.  And, if someone wanted to buy me a specific one to wear, I'd do it.  And I'd take a photo of me every Friday in the T-shirt of the week and post it online along with commentary about reaction to the T-shirt.

Now, out of all the T-shirts I'd wear, this would be my favorite one if someone could find it for me.  I saw a girl walking down the street in this a couple of weeks ago,  but when I searched for it online, all I could find was a picture of Ashlee Simpson in it.

If anyone knows where I can buy this T-shirt (online searches found nada), will buy me this T-shirt, or will make me a T-shirt like it, I'd be forever in your debt!  This would be part of the T-shirt voting project and would probably get worn every weekend as well.  On  California's primary election day I'd wear "Kiss Me, I Voted!" and then on Election Day, I will unveil who the candidate I chose was.  In an ideal world, I'd actually feel like I had a choice on election day between the two (or maybe three?) main candidates, but we'll see what the primaries bring.

Who wants to see me do this project?  Who wants to help the cause by buying me a T-shirt to wear during it?  I've been marking ones on Cafe Press I think are cool, but at $20 or so a pop, it's at least a $1,000 project (shipping not included). ;-)  If you want to, send me an email and we'll work out the shipping details.

Al Gore

On The Chris Matthews show a few weeks ago, one of the journalists claimed that Al Gore has been right about every big issue over the past 25-30 years.  In addition, he cited a "dream team" for the Democrats in 2008 as a Gore/Obama.  The thought is he could join the race in the August/September time frame.  Innnnn-teresting.
